About the Job
The Tool & Gage House is seeking a highly skilled, hands‑on Calibration Manager to lead daily operations at our Graniteville, SC site. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on being directly involved in the work—calibrating tools, solving technical problems, coaching technicians, and keeping the lab running smoothly. If you want a role where you lead from the front and stay engaged in the technical work every day, this is the opportunity.

What You’ll Do:
As a working manager, you’ll be actively involved in daily calibration tasks while also guiding the team and ensuring the site meets all quality and contractual requirements. Responsibilities include:
  • Perform and oversee gauge and torque tool calibrations as part of daily operations.
  • Handle all administrative and contract‑related duties required to keep the program running.
  • Maintain and update procedures, work instructions, and forms used on the floor.
  • Build a strong team environment through real‑time communication, coaching, and corrective action when needed.
  • Prepare Monthly Quality Reports and communicate results to management.
  • Serve as the primary on‑site contact for customer requests and special projects.
  • Act as liaison for Tool & Gage House personnel and customer representatives.
  • Ensure all services comply with ISO‑9000 or site‑specific accreditation requirements.
  • Provide hands‑on training, technical direction, and leadership to T&G personnel.
  • Maintain 5S standards across all TGH‑managed areas.

What You Bring:
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent hands‑on technical experience.
  • At least one year of relevant experience; automotive or manufacturing background preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience is helpful, but the ability to lead by doing is essential.
  • Strong communication skills for working with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot practical problems and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
  • Solid technical foundation—precision metrology experience preferred, but backgrounds in electronics, medical device manufacturing, food and drug manufacturing, or other precision‑driven industries are also valued.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025, ASME B89, and ISO 9001 is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer applications.
